A 100-year-old suspension bridge is a "cross-over" to bygone days of unpaved roads, unelectrified homesteads and the simple life. Thousands of acres of forested State owned lands border the resort. The area is ideal for hiking and exploring many secluded pristine beaches, streams and rivers, springs and waterfalls and other nooks and crannies. Fishing off the north coast is good. Bird watching is excellent.
